As you gain profession levels, more parents drop off their kids, so you'll endure an uphill struggle, though the monetary rewards and gifts the parents bestow on you make the job almost bearable. Anyone familiar with the Sims franchise will no doubt know how tough it is to raise one child, so tending to the needs of several is any player's worst nightmare.

The new profession of daycare worker is arguably the most the series' most challenging to date. This is one of the more interesting aspects of Generations, but it isn't quite enough to make the expansion the essential purchase that World Adventures is. By purchasing the new video camera item, you can film family and friend shenanigans and then play them back through an in-game television set. The chance to create your own home videos is a more significant addition. Whether your character is trustworthy or a love rat is now apparent to other Sims, and although this paves the way for drama, it's hardly a gameplay enhancer. There are new social features, including the ability to hold wedding ceremonies and bachelor parties, and new relationships gauge to monitor how faithful your Sims are throughout their love lives. This certainly makes them a handful, but the option for parents to chastise them in variety of creative fashions balances this out well.Д¬hanges abound for the adults too. Teen Sims now have comical mood swings and the ability to play pranks. Other changes that impact on the younger generation include the option to build kid-friendly structures, such as tree houses and playgrounds, and additional novelty costumes.

Sim youngsters can now be given imaginary friends who can go on to become a permanent addition to the household. These changes are barely noticeable to begin with, though fans will find that they have a greater impact further down the line. New options have been shoehorned into every phase, many of which are understated tweaks rather than drastic overhauls. In a nutshell, Generations fleshes out the various stages of your Sims' lives. Such gameplay developments made previous packs must-haves, and while the latest addition to the fold, Generations, adds some worthwhile new features, it's far from the game-changer that its predecessors were. Recent add-ons have built on the title's foundations, introducing light RPG elements, world exploration and career progression. The Sims 3 is about to enter its third year, and thanks to the numerous expansion packs EA has dished out, the game has more than stood the test of time.
